Made it to Spoleto Italy for the yoga portion of my trip.  Our hotel is a 14th century Hermitage nestled into a mountain top.  Our views are incredible.  Historically, monks used to come here to remove themselves from society and meditate in secluded caves nestled among the property.  The hotel is filled with relics and history..  There is a chapel attached to the hotel where even the most extreme heathens will find themselves humbled by the energy and grace that exists here.  I too having pushed my Catholic upbringing aside am filled with this grace and humbled with gratitude and joy.  I find myself spontaneously in tears with no explanation except that I feel as if my heart has been cracked open with a angels arms.  

Only recently have I been drawn to Europe.  This trip brings me to Rome and Spoleto for a little tourism and mostly yoga.  I've read several historical fiction books about Cleopatra and the dramas that unfolded between the Roman empire and the rest of Western Civilization.  Only now does the information and scope begin to settle in.  It there was ever an Atlantis or Lemuria I would imagine it all to be sort of Rome like.  Such grander and attention to detail while at the same time, totally barbaric.  This city certainly inspires love, art and passion.  The people are great.  Friendly, charming and charismatic.  Such a nice shift from our conservative american ways.  I love this city!!
